We are Kate and Jess. Welcome to Kate’s Upstate, your friendly and fashion-forward boutique located in downtown Cooperstown. We use the term “downtown” lightly, of course. Cooperstown is a one-stoplight village with just under 2,000 year-round residents. But in the summer that one stoplight sees a lot of action thanks to the thousands of tourists that join us to visit a variety of attractions near the village.

Having access to stylish clothing options on Main Street has not always been the case in Cooperstown. We saw this need after moving back to the area from South Florida and wanted to offer something different both for area visitors and our year-round community members.

And so in 2017, we opened Kate’s Upstate, a shop with a boutique feel that offers women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing and accessories. 

We recently expanded and moved the shop to our current location, 62 Main Street. 

With fashion e-commerce on the rise, having the opportunity to touch and try on clothes prior to purchase adds a tactile and more personal aspect to the shopping experience, and we are glad we are able to provide that in our beautiful small town.
